Pics of our growing family

Here's some pics of our Ty. They were all taken in March. I'll get more recent pictures as soon I catch up :) We've enjoyed having him as part of our family. He is patient, mild-mannered, even tempered, and can sleep through pretty much anything. He melts us with his smile!

Here's some pics of all of the kids! You can't tell that the girls absolutely adore their little brother can you?

Mommy, Wow...I'm a big girl now!

Even before Ty was born, Courtney has had a passion for changing her doll's diapers. She would come to me at least 10 times a day to have me put the diaper on, just so she could take it off again. Now she can do it all on her own. I'm grateful to her for the practice she gave me for when Ty was born :) She still continues to change their diapers, but is now starting to find interest in changing Ty's diaper. She likes to help me unsnap his pajamas and wants to continue with the diaper. It's hilarious! She's such a big helper and I continue to stress the importance of her role as the helper and how we need to do it together. She's adorable!

She loves to do everything her big sister does, and that includes always wearing a headband always. I guess it was just a phase because for most of the month of March, they both wore headbands in their hair all the time. Of course with their longer hair I would usually put it up out of their face in a ponytail, braid, etc... Then they would go and add their special touch with the headband. (the headband didn't keep their hair out of their faces on its own, especially when they didn't want help from anyone putting it in.)
Courtney also wants to be big like Brooklyn and use the potty. We worked on it seriously for a few days, and now she goes #2 on the potty every time. It's awesome! It definitely helps that she can learn from her big sis! We're still working on #1...but, hey, the poopy diapers were the most dreaded ones to change! Yeah, Courtney! Good job, sweetheart!

Time to check for cavities!

In March (I know I'm way behind) we all went to get our teeth cleaned and checked. At age 2, Courtney did good to let the dentist count her teeth. Brooklyn cooperated very well and let them clean her teeth and they found no cavities! Both the girls were and still are very excited about the little bag the dentist gave them with a new toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste of their very own! I love how it doesn't take much to please them...most of the time :)

Courtney turns 2!

Many of my immediate family members were able to be at my great grandpa's funeral. It was a very nice service and great celebration of his life. We stayed at Nathan's parents house. While we were there, we stayed a few days longer to be with family and were there for Courtney's birthday! February 23, she turned 2. It seems that she is suddenly starting to do so many things. She talks and understands so much, she loves to sing, and she basically tries to do everything her big sister does. She spends a lot of her day taking care of her babies, and is a great big sister! She has such a fun and lively personality and is full of energy. Her smile melts us. We love her so much! While in Orem, she had a mini breakfast in bed (a family tradition) which was followed with grandma Boone's delicious swedish pancakes. We played some games with grandma and grandpa, went to lunch, met up with aunt Mary and her kids at Jump On It (the girls LOVE to JUMP), and then had dinner and cake and ice cream with family. It was a full, yet fun day!

My Great Grandpa Royle

It's been a while since I posted anything, yet a lot has happened! In February, my great grandpa Royle passed away. (I love this picture of him holding Brooklyn when she was a baby!) I've been thinking a lot about him lately, especially since he would have been 98 today. He lived a great life and served others in many ways. I'll always admire how he lovingly took care of his wife, especially when her health was bad. He took every opportunity to teach others through sharing his life experiences...and he had many! He had an amazing garden and generously shared the fruits of his labor with family and friends. In his 90's he finished an autobiography which I will always treasure. One of my favorite memories of my grandpa was a year ago today at his 97th birthday party. The girls and I drove up to American Fork for the celebration. I was amazed when (at age 97, remember) he got down on the ground to play with my girls for a good 10 minutes. He was actually crawling around and making them laugh. They had so much fun! I love and miss him. I know he's having an awesome reunion with my great grandma.

Welcome, little Ty guy!

Ty Martindale Boone was born on January 30th at 5:39am. He weighed 5 lbs., 14 oz. and was 18 in. long. He has a widow’s peak and blonde hair. We feel very blessed that he is healthy and was able to stay in my hospital room and go home at the same time that I did. These were both new concepts to us, having had two preemie babies in the NICU previously. Bed rest really did pay off! We are all excited to have Ty here with us...especially his two big sisters who have already proven to be great helpers! It was fun having Nathan’s parents come visit us at the hospital. While I was on bed rest, they came to visit and help us for a week. My parents were also able to come visit for a few weeks…the were tons of help too! Thank goodness for family! Here are some pictures from the last few weeks!

35 weeks along and going strong!

We're breaking a record here! Since both of our girls were born prematurely, we're very excited about having our baby boy still inside of me at this point. We know that the longer he can stay 'cooking in my oven,' the stronger and bigger he'll be. This would hopefully cut down on the time that he would need to spend in the NICU after he's born. What a blessing! I'm sure a lot of this has to do with the fact that my doctor put me on bed rest a few weeks ago. Nathan has been doing EVERYTHING!!! He's always been extra helpful, but he's really taking on all responsibilites now. He's amazing! Celeste helped out tons when she was here visiting. Also, Nathan's parents were able to come and help out for a week. I have amazing friends, too, who have helped with the girls while Nathan goes to work! I'm scheduled to have my c-section on Feb. 11, and will be 37 weeks along. It'll be interesting to see how much longer we can go before baby boone comes, and if we can even make it to this scheduled date! We're also excited for my mom to come and help after the baby is born! We'll try to keep you posted.

Getting Started and Pics

Celeste was here this past week and helped us with a lot of projects to get ready for our baby boy. One of the projects she worked on was painting the baby's room. Brooklyn was lucky enough to have Celeste here for her 4th birthday. Another exciting thing that happened this week was that Courtney got her new "big girl" bed.
